In our years serving the Diocese of Comayagua, we have discovered the deep wounds Hondurans suffer, caused by injustice, abuse, and lack of resource and opportunities.  There is a great need for formed leaders, faithful religious and priests, rooted in the firm assurance of God's great, sustaining love for His children.  Young people, in particular, need a "reason to stay" to serve Christ in His people as radical disciples sent on mission.
In answer to this need, God has miraculously given the Missioners of Christ a piece of land in the mountains of Cabañas, La Paz, where we will create a place of refuge, peace, and healing.  This Montaña de Esperanza or Mountain of Hope, will be a beacon of hope calling the young and families of Honduras, the US, and Central America to come as they are – to be healed, formed and restored to communion with God.  Freed and formed, they will be sent to an apostolate of renewal all over Honduras and the Americas. ​

​Our Future

God willing, we will build a healing and retreat center and a family and youth camp where formation, retreats, prayer, and accompaniment will take place. In beauty and silence, seminarians, priests, religious, youth, and families will have the opportunity to hear the voice of God calling him/her to Himself and giving them opportunity to discover his/her true identity and intention for his/her life.  ​

WE HAVE FINISHED THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE TEAM CABIN, HERMITAGE CABIN, AND FAMILY CABIN. SINCE THEN, WE HAVE HELD ORIENTATIONS FOR NEW MISSIONARIES, RETREATS FOR LEADERS OF COMMUNITIES, SEMINARIANS, PRIESTS, AND MISSIONARIES, DEBRIEFING SESSIONS WITH MISSION TEAMS, AND MORE. WE HAVE SEEN AN OUTPOURING OF BLESSINGS FLOW FROM THE MERCIFUL HEART OF JESUS.
