Who we are
Missioners of Christ is a Catholic Christian community that has been formed to walk with one another in our common call to holiness and to fulfill Great Commission of Christ: To make disciples of all nations. Through a process of evangelization and discipleship, our community is called to accompany others and to help them encounter the person of Jesus Christ and to live their lives fully for Him. Our primary mission is to prepare others through a process of healing and formation, helping them to know their gifts and purpose and to live out a holy vocation. We fulfill this mission through providing healing and conversion retreats, leadership formation, discipleship for youth and adults, short and long-term mission opportunities, and outreach to the poor and marginalized.
Missioners of Christ was founded in Virginia Beach in 1999. It has members across the United States and several other countries, and a permanent international mission in Comayagua, Honduras serving the people of Central America.
Missioners of Christ offers a variety of adult mission experiences from one week to two year commitments at our permanent formation house in Comayagua, Honduras. Volunteers have an opportunity to participate in our work in communities throughout Honduras alongside our missionaries from across the United States and other countries. Our missions focus on evangelization and are centered in prayer.
Missioners of Christ is a Catholic Christian community rooted in prayer, united in covenant, and centered in Christ that disciples others to live out the Great Commission, bringing the Gospel to all peoples and loving those in greatest need.
