The only other thing needed to complete this phase of the discernment process (so we can move forward with the three phone interviews) is the Faith Autobiography. Download the document below which is meant to provide parameters and suggestions in getting started on this. Once we have received this and any remaining documentation, we will begin scheduling the interviews.
We'll be able to inform you of the final discernment disposition within a week of your second interview, so you will potentially know your situation soon. Our hope is that you submit your information quickly, to assist us in making faster decisions for the entire group.
Each of the interviewers will have your application, references, and faith autobiography. They will have a series of questions to choose from to ask you, though they are also permitted to ask specific questions relating to your submitted documentation. These interviews are blind, meaning that each of them will not know what your responses and the interviewer’s impressions were from previous interviews.
Generally, the phone interviews have lasted anywhere from 30 – 90 minutes, keeping in mind that not everyone is on the same time zone. Generally one interview is from a member in the United States and one interview is from a member in Honduras. Please cc: me on your correspondence with your interviewees just so I can keep on top of where we are at.
Please keep the Missioners in prayer as we wind down this process, and pray that we do what we need to discern whom the Holy Spirit is calling to serve with us at this junction. More than anything, we desire to do His will. Also, please let us know as soon as possible if you, through your prayer and consultation with those you trust, have discerned out of this ministry. God has really blessed us in the past regarding most cases where the final disposition was mutually agreed to. Though sometimes we do have to make some tough decisions, we trust that the Lord will guide each of us in the right direction.
Please feel free to contact me by email if you have any additional questions.
