OUR LOCAL MINISTRIES

Below are some of the ministries that the missionaries who are serving take part in:

In supporting the Saint John Paul II Center of Formation, you make it possible for our missionaries from around the world to continue serving the poorest of the poor, evangelize, and form disciples through the ministries of the Missioners of Christ.

ST. JOHN BOSCO
Sponsorship Program

Picture
The program serves the children and youth of Honduras and is unique in its focus on discipleship - not only teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ, but also teaching participants how to teach and evangelize others in their country. We begin by ensuring the basic needs of each participant are met, then progress to education, general social services, catechesis and active discipleship.  As a sponsor you are able to truly accompany your child as a "spiritual parent" through prayer, material support, and personal letters.

DAUGHTERS OF MARY

A women’s group to create a community of ladies to help lead them to a deeper encounter with our Lord. The Daughters of Mary have been growing in fraternity through prayer, formation, and intentional friendship. Currently, there are about twenty-five ladies who have formed part of the group.

RETREATS

Alongside the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal, each year the Missioners put on a eucharistic, chastity, and healing retreat to help youth dive deeper into their relationships with Jesus

Santa margarita
Physical Therapy Program

Picture
The Santa Margarita program is a holistic therapy program designed to give hope and dignity to disabled children and their families. Our patients include children and young adults with a range of physical and sometimes mental disabilities.  Without access to basic health care, our patients have needlessly suffered from often easily preventable health issues. Santa Margarita offers patients hope by providing not only physical therapy treatments, but seeking to meet mental and spiritual needs of patients and their families as well.

HOUSE VISITS

Picture
House visits are a big part of our ministry. We visit different families in our neighborhood to spend time, listen to their stories, hear their needs, pray for them, and see if there are any ways we can assist them.

SANCTUARY NIGHTS OF ADORATION

Picture
This ministry is centered around having a personal encounter with Jesus in the Eucharist. Once a month, the Missioners of Christ invite people from our local ministries to participate in an evening of adoration, praise and worship, and healing prayer. This ministry is to help with the follow up of our ministries and lead them to a deeper encounter with Jesus.

Frassati Camp

Picture

MEN OF CHRIST

Picture
We are forming in what it means to be a man of faith and virtue. Our goal is to equip them to be leaders in their schools and neighborhoods who can lead others to faith and inspire them to be good, faithful men. We have weekly meetings that include sports, prayer, games, talks, and small groups, and we had several hikes and adventures outside the city.

GLORY STORIES

Testimonies

Samctuary Nights of Adoration

“I felt God's presence when the monstrance passed in front of me. I had a lot of wounds in my heart and I had yet to forgive a lot of people. In this retreat, I discovered who I am and I learned to ask the Lord to forgive and heal my wounds. When I had Jesus in front of me, I knew that I could trust Him and that He loves me."

house visits testimony

We recently visited the home of a family who had lost their 18 year old son. Just that morning, the father had been crying out to God in desperation, and asking for a sign that God was still with him. A few of us showed up a few minutes later, and the father told us through tears that God had sent us there just at the right moment to answer his prayer. Even without doing anything, God was able to use our mere presence to bring hope to a hurting family.
